NiLs KePPEL
... is a figurehead of German post-punk.
The singer-songwriter celebrated his first breakout success with singles like "222" (2022) and "Wellblech" (2023). In late 2025, his performance at the legendary Parisian indie club Supersonic inspired the title of his debut album.
Super Sonic Youth was released in early 2026 and garnered significant acclaim across the German music press. This milestone was quickly followed in March by his first headline tour through Germany, which also included several sold-out shows across Europe.
Nils continues to write and produce his music independently, bypassing traditional record labels to fully maintain his artistic freedom.

A blend of post-punk with distinct influences of pop, noise-pop, and shoegaze - that is how Nils describes his own musical style. His signature, brooding baritone vocals, combined with highly energetic live performances, captivate a loyal and rapidly growing crowd of young fans. The lyrics navigate between youthful hedonism, apocalyptic angst, and fractured romance, resonating deeply within his fanbase.
"An album bursting with Weltschmerz, sweeping us up into a rebellious outburst somewhere between intoxication
and the longing for reckless freedom."
Picky Magazine, 2026
"This record is a much-needed wild wind in the wasteland of mundane German music."
Tagesspiegel, 2026
For his cover art and tour posters, Nils deliberately breaks away from heteronormative gender roles, actively advocating for equality, freedom, and queer visibility in his adopted hometown of Leipzig.
The Super Sonic Youth tour was booked by KKT, the agency also responsible for the tours of renowned artists like Einstürzende Neubauten, Isolation Berlin, and legends such as Die Ärzte. Nils performed in sold-out venues across more than 13 cities in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
